Welcome to Goodwin School!

It is a privilege to be part of the Kathleen E. Goodwin School Community. Certified professionals and support staff work collaboratively to provide the best possible educational environment for all students, and families are welcome and appreciated for their support and contributions. On any given day, parents and young siblings can be seen visiting in the lobby, the library or the cafeteria. Everyone is held accountable to be respectful of others and to contribute to the positive community atmosphere.

My personal goal over the last nine years has been to staff every classroom with a dedicated, expert educator and to provide each teacher with everything necessary to achieve their goal of having every student achieve at their highest level. This includes small class sizes, adequate support staff and instructional supplies to deliver an exemplary integrated curriculum. With the guidance and support from the superintendent’s office and the Board of Education we have been able to accomplish our goals and, as a team, we are committed to measuring our success by the success of our students.

Sheila Brown, Principal

Sadie Brown, a two year old Soft Coated Wheaton Terrier, spends a few days a week at school, greeting her fan club of students and faculty each morning as they arrive. She has been a frequent visitor since she was 7 weeks old and students have watched her grow from a fluffy, rambunctious puppy to a full grown, almost calm teenager. She is gated in the office and only those students who feel comfortable in her presence are subjected to her wagging tail and perky ears.
